Replacing a Honda Civic CV Axleshaft
I will fill in the details later. For now just a look at what a torn CV boot looks like.

This Constant Velocity Joint, or CV joint, has a torn boot. The CV is a type of universal joint that allows your front wheels to turn left and right, and move up and down. If the protective boot is torn open as this one is, it will let in water and rocks that will destroy the joint. If the boot is replaced soon enough the CV joint may still be re-usable. However, most times the mileage on the axle and the cost of just replacing the boot, will realistically exceed the cost of a replacement axle.
