Replacing the front signal bulb in a Cavalier
It sometimes is not obvious how things come apart. You don't want to break anything when you are expecting things to be simple. Well changing the front signal bulb on this 2001 Chevy Cavalier can be puzzling at first, no visible screws to remove the assembly and no way to reach behind to remove the bulb.

First remove the 3 closest clips holding the black plastic cover in front of the rad. Gently slid your side cutters under the head of the plastic rivet pin and lift it up. You don't need to remove it completely.

Then lift the cover away from the light so that you can access the back of the light. Their isn't much room, but enough to get the light out easily.

Now get a large screwdriver behind the light assembly and give it a good push forward. It should just pop out.

Here is what the lamp assembly looks like. Just push the release on the bulb holder and twist to release it from the lamp assembly. The bulb may push in and twist to remove, or it may just pull straight out like this one.

Reassembly is the reverse of removing the assembly. Line up the pins in the sockets and give it a firm push. Replace the plastic cover and push the retaining rivets back in.
