Preparing the LT1 Engine

The EGR for the LT1 engine is located at the back of the intake manifild. The EGR must be removed and must be blocked off in order to clear the firewall. The oil pressure sender from the Mazda must be screwed directly into the Chevy block; no adapter fittings. Use several wraps of Teflon tape.  LT1 EGR
The Mazda sending unit will not clear the firewall if you try to use the fittings from the Chevy. The engine is not fully back in this picture. Oil Pressure Switch
You need remove the heat shield and cut off the mounting tab. I recommend that you trim off the tip of the bell housing in order to move the engine back to the rear most hole in the cradle. I also hammered in the tunnel at this point too. Needs clearance
Here the EGR is blocked off and the Mazda oil pressure sender is screwed into the block. Oil pressure switch and blocked EGR
